Our products

Where can I buy Sensei Farms products?

Our products are currently available in Hawaii and select grocery partners in mainland USA and Canada. Find a store location by using our Store Locator. You will typically find us in the refrigerated section in the produce department.

Is Sensei Farms produce non-GMO?

Yes, all of our products are non-GMO.

Is Sensei Farms produce organic?

At this time, we do not qualify as organic by the USDA or the National Organic Standards Board. As a hydroponic farm, we do not grow in soil, so it's not always appropriate to use fertilizers derived from organic sources like dead and decayed plants. In our greenhouses, we do contend with pests from time to time, but rarely require pesticides or herbicides. In Hawaii, we cannot use beneficials because they are not endemic to the islands, so we are very careful and mindful of our pest management strategies, always opting for organic compounds when possible.

Where can I find nutritional information for your products?

You can find the nutrition facts for our produce by visiting the USDA FoodData Central hub via https://fdc.nal.usda.gov/.

How is your produce packaged?

Our leafy greens are packed in our new, more eco-friendly packaging, made with over 90% less plastic compared to our previous clamshell. Learn more here. While our Lanai farm’s tomatoes and 8oz leafy greens are still packed in plastic clamshells, our goal is to introduce more sustainable packaging solutions across our entire product portfolio. In the meantime, our current tomato and 8oz leafy green packaging consists of recycled plastic and is recyclable through municipal recycling. If recycling collection is not available in your area, there are many local recycling centers and retailers that will accept our plastic containers. Consider reusing your containers, too, for loose produce, organizing your pantry, or as small storage bins.

Our Farm

Where are your farms located?

We have two farms; our first farm is located on the island of Lāna'i in Hawaii, and our newest farm is in Ontario, Canada.

How does Sensei Farms grow its produce?

Unlike conventional outdoor-grown produce, we grow our produce indoors using a hydroponic growing system. Growing indoors has many advantages – the ability to provide the perfect environment and the right nutrition for our plants year-round; reducing land, water, and energy use while increasing yield and quality; and growing cleaner and more flavorful produce for consumers to enjoy safely.

How can I join the team at Sensei Farms?

We’re always looking for talented individuals to join our growing team. Visit our Careers page to learn more, or send us a message at careers@senseifarms.com.

Product Care

Do I need to wash my Sensei Farms produce before consumption?

Yes, please. Our products are purposely not washed to maintain their freshness and maximize shelf life. Moisture can speed up browning and wilting. To enjoy our produce at its best, please wash just before serving.

How should I store my Sensei Farms greens?

Store your mixed salad, leafy greens, and lettuce in the refrigerator, preferably in the crisper drawer. Keep the greens in their original container or wrap them in a kitchen cloth until ready to wash and eat. We recommend consuming within 5 days of purchase to enjoy our greens fresh.

How should I store my Sensei Farms tomatoes?

Store your tomatoes in their original packaging, in a cool spot on your kitchen counter until ready to wash and eat. Tomatoes keep best when not stored in the refrigerator. For the freshest taste, we recommend enjoying within 7 days of purchase.
